In Sea Aquarium Bergen aan Zee you can admire as many as 44 aquariums with residents from all oceans of the world. There is an extensive collection of shells and a 14 meter long skeleton of a sperm whale to see.

The cheese city Alkmaar is situated in the immediate vicinity. From April to September, the famous cheese market takes place on Friday. Once a batch of cheese is sold and weighed, the cheese carriers carry the cheese on their “wooden barrows” to the buyers’ lorries. Willemstad is the capital city of Curacao, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea. Formerly the capital of the Netherlands Antilles it has an estimated population of 150,000. The historic centre of the city consists of four quarters: the Punda and Otrabanda, which are separated by the Sint Anna Bay, an inlet that leads into the large natural harbour called the Schottegat, as well as the Scharloo and Pietermaai Smal quarters, which are across from each other on the smaller Waaigat harbour.
